By XianWei: 6th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Hot air balloon! Hot air balloon! Some as big as money tree from a tycoon. This in Putrajaya, Don't get wrong and go to Cyberjaya. But riding the tethered balloons have long queues, Everybody lines up and says "Phew!" Hot air balloon so many shapes, I wonder whether they make them with Superman capes. Taiwan, France, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Spain, USA, Belgium, New Zealand, Vietnam and Australia. Darth Vader, ice cream, motorbike balloons, Almost anything you could think of like cartoons. But watch out for the fire, It's super HOT like a fryer. At first crowded with hot air balloons, After that like empty cocoons. May the Force be with you! Something fishy happening inside??

Do you feel like you always have a long ‘to do’ list? Always too rushed? On Saturday, I learnt an important lesson, and I hope it woke me up to some extent the fact that I spend too many continuous hours juggling too many things at the same time. It’s a rare occasion to have my parents and mom-in-law staying for a weekend at my place. So I tried to kill all birds with one stone, planning a flurry of activities, cooking and two birthdays. What-you-call-it? – ‘putting too much on my plate’. Parent-Teacher Dialogue & Exhibition Day By late afternoon, there were obviously signs of burning out, but I was too efficient ticking off my ‘to-do’ list to notice them. I read that people who perceive life in a 'time-urgent' way tend to be excessively worried about schedules, keeping overly tight deadlines, rushing when rushing is not necessary, doing several activities at the same time, sometimes forgetting to take time to really enjoy work and play. That described me well...

Posting by Xian Jin I went to the 5th annual hot air balloon fiesta with my family in Putrajaya. There were 20 balloons, not just the traditional "inverted tear drop" shape but some special ones that looked catchy. There were teams who participated from different countries. Many people were there to see the hot air balloons taking flight. I was thrilled to get a pass to the launching site. I could see  so closely   the whole process of the hot air balloon getting inflated. The crews getting the balloon inflated and ready to fly. As I got near it, I could feel the humidity and heat from the burner.  The balloons came in different shape and designs. There were a clown, African elephants, a two-faced monkey, a green monster, Smurf and even a Sim card!! The crew trying to patch up a hole found in the monkey balloon. FLORIA 2012 - the Flower & Garden Festival is an annual event in Putrajaya. The theme of this year's event is Bougainvillea - Enduring Beauty. This place is always full of fresh, creative ideas and inspiring designs even for home gardeners like us. And most of all, it educates. The nightly floral parade accompanied by fireworks display..... There were a total of 15 floats cruising along the Putrajaya Lake. The best view was to watch from the Millenium Monument, overlooking the Seri Wawasan Bridge, the landmark of Putrajaya city. We also learnt our lesson - we visited the show on a weekday so we could take our time to enjoy the show and the gardens. The flower & garden show looked different in the morning...... Unveiling the secrets of Taman Warisan Pertanian in Putrajaya - an agricultural education park with a variety of fruits, herbs, spices and agricultural crops.   Posting by Xian Wei: Why were these branches upside-down? Guess the name of this tree.   Our guide was cutting the bark of a cinnamon tree....... It has a strong smell! Hmmm..... I wondered which hand could reach the fruit first. Our guide showed us a pineapple plant. If you cut the crown of the pineapple, then you can plant it again. We went to a small paddy field. We saw duckweeds which were the small green floating plants. These plants could take up a lot of oxygen,  they must be controlled. After that, we learnt to plant at the Little Farmers' Program.  Our guide taught us to plant using recycled bottles.
