Anniversary – When Marriage is Bigger Than Us

We are thankful to have each other, though we are unable to go out like usual to celebrate our 21 st anniversary. Our world is still in the battle against invisible enemies, one that seeks to destroy our physical and another to destroy our souls. During this movement control order or lockdown even in some places, it opens up our eyes to see like never before. How we take things for granted and realise the brevity of life.   Someone said, that Marriage is like Life, it is a field of battle; not a bed of roses. Instead of unity of heart and mind, we see God’s providence in two completely different personalities. Becoming ‘One' is never easy in marriage, especially when we want all our rights. Strangely that’s how we see God in the haphazard things of our marriage. As we learn to release one another from our expectations, God can start His workmanship in each of us. Unprecedented Times

My last post was in 2017. We are at a crossroad now with the growing boys, finding a balance to continue to be there for them without hovering over their lives - the normal growing up pains and joy of letting our boys choose their own paths, find their ways and accept responsibilities. When everything seems to be going well, what we certainly did not expect was to witness the uncontained global spread of Covid-19 before our eyes. It takes some time to make sense of what is happening, not just at home, but all over the world.  How we can give up so much in such a short time? What happened to our plans, hopes, dreams, future? Why did God allow this to happen? Will we get over this? Or have we reached the peak of the outbreak? Will we get sick and die? What about our loved ones and people we know? How long will the movement restriction order or lockdown last? Will the lockdown be enough to flatten or slow down the curve of this outbreak? How long can our healthcare system ...
